1. What are some of the benefits of using Roca massaging pods?
Roca massaging pods enable the person using the pod to give a massage with less effort. The weight of the pod applies most of the pressure, so almost no additional pressure is required from you. Roca pods are flexible and contour to the shape of the body. Because the pods cover a large surface area, more surface area can be stimulated at the same time. This makes the massage easy to perform. For some massage techniques, two Roca pods can be even used at the same time. Roca pods also do not have noisy motors.
2. What are some benefits of receiving a Roca massage?
Roca pods cover a large surface area of the body and stimulate multiple areas of the body at the same time. Roca massages are great for massage sharing between family members and friends, and for certain self massage techniques. The techniques are easy to learn. Receiving a Roca massage is very relaxing. Roca back and glute massage techniques are great to use on people who spend a lot of time sitting, or for those people with frequent stress from work or sports. Shoulder massage is particularly relaxing when using the Roca long pod while sitting or standing.

Always consult with your doctor if you have medical conditions that may be contraindicating for massage. See the contraindications page for more information: Contraindications

3. Which weight amount should I use for the Roca pod?
That depends on personal preference, the location being massaged, the size of the person, the pressure desired, and the condition of the body. For large muscles, such as the glutes and legs, the 12 pound pod is recommended. For back massage, the weight can be as little as 4 pounds to as high as 10 pounds. For a relaxing light to medium pressure back massage, 6 pounds is a good starter weight amount. Because the heavier 12 pound pod will sink into tissue more than a 6 pound pod while applying the same technique, it may be too heavy for the back of smaller or skinny bodies. Each person is different, so we recommend having two pods of different weight amounts.
4. Do I need a massage table for back massage?
A massage table is not necessary. However, for back massage, the back should be as flat as possible when lying face down. An open face cradle is best for this when used with a massage table. Alternatively, the head can be slightly angled to the side, as when lying face down on a bed.
5. Can Roca pods be used as a massage roller?
Yes. All Roca massaging pods can be used to do self massage against the back and legs using various pressure and rolling techniques.
